Unwrap the crayons and break them into small pieces. I put them into a silicon muffin tin, which made them really easy to get out. But, there is still a waxy film on the tin. So you might want to use a tin or pan from a garage sale or something you picked up for cheap because you may not be able to resurrect it. Put the pan in a 150 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Keep a close eye on it.
There was a slight waxy buildup on the top of each crayon when I pulled it out out of the oven. I used a paring knife to scrape it off.

Laura gave back her silicon pan because she said stuff sticks to it. At least now it has a great use.
